Know exactly where every physical unit is every time you count.
Brightstar Computer's stock tracking system gives every physical item its own QR code and barcode, so stock counts happen by scanning not guessing and missing or duplicated stock is caught immediately.
Built around the physical unit, not just the SKU
A product record describes what an item is. A stock unit is the one physical item on your shelf — with its own code, location, condition, and history.
Individual unit tracking
Every physical item gets its own internal unit code, serial number, location, and status — not just a shared quantity number on the product.
QR and barcode labels
Generate printable QR-code and barcode stickers for individual units or in bulk, ready for A4 sheets or thermal label printers.
Controlled stock counts
Run scheduled counting sessions across one or more locations, assign staff, and compare results against a locked expected-stock snapshot.
Missing & duplicate detection
Every scan is validated instantly against the expected stock list, flagging duplicates, unexpected items, and wrong-location scans as they happen.
Stock transfers
Move stock between warehouses and stores with a clear dispatch-and-receive workflow, so every location's stock stays accurate.
Full movement history
Every status change, transfer, and count is recorded in an append-only ledger, so you can always trace how a unit got to where it is.
One code per unit, printed and scannable
When stock units are created, the system generates a unique internal unit code, a matching QR code, and a barcode for each one. Labels are printed and attached to the physical item, so a single scan by camera or handheld scanner resolves straight to that unit's record inside the authenticated system.
- Individual or bulk label printing, with configurable label sizes
- High-contrast, black-and-white codes designed for reliable scanning
- No sensitive data encoded in the label itself

Why teams move to unit-level tracking
- Fewer manual counting mistakes
- Scanning replaces manual tallying, removing the most common source of count errors.
- Missing & duplicated stock surfaces immediately
- Discrepancies are flagged the moment they're scanned, not discovered weeks later.
- Printable labels for every unit
- Generate and print QR/barcode stickers individually or in bulk as new stock arrives.
- A clear stock movement history
- Every transfer, status change, and count is recorded in an append-only ledger.
- Mobile-friendly counting
- Staff can scan with a phone camera or a handheld scanner, built for use on the floor.
- Role-based access
- Admins manage inventory and reconciliation; staff scan within the sessions assigned to them.
Every important action is recorded
Role-based permissions are enforced on the server, not just hidden in the interface. Product changes, status updates, scans, and reconciliation decisions are written to an append-only audit log with who did what and when.
-
Secure authentication
Rate-limited logins, password resets, and session protection.
-
Admin and staff roles
Staff accounts are created by admins there's no public sign-up.
-
Append-only audit trail
Historical records are preserved nothing is silently overwritten.
